Training in Cybersecurity

Online training offered to state departments SANTA FE— New Mexico Information Technology is leading the way with innovation. As part of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s push for Cybersecurity, our team will host a series of training events for a list of 33 agencies. Our current Cybersecurity Awareness Training program is targeted to agencies with 400 or fewer Full Time Employees. We have an ambitious schedule to train more than 3,500 employees, with an opportunity for growth starting by April 2020.

“Cybersecurity is fundamental in today’s digital environment. We are dedicated to ensuring every state employee has the knowledge they need when navigating online. Hosting this series of trainings is one step in our service to protect the State of New Mexico and its citizens,” Department of Information Technology Cabinet Secretary Vince Martinez.

Employees will learn Introduction to Security Awareness Essentials, Understanding Information, Security Treats, Privacy, Typical Threats, Malware Examples, Safe Computing Best Practices, social Engineering, Phishing, Ensuring Physical security, Ensuring Data Security, Mobile and Remote Computing Best Practices, and Working Remotely. The online course also features a summary of the topics and a final exam.

This training is being offered to the employees free of charge.
